Welcome

Welcome to Cowan Community Schools!  Cowan is located a few short miles south of the city of Muncie, Indiana.  Cowan School Corporation is made up of Monroe Township in Delaware County.  The enrollment is approximately 800 students in grades K-12.  The corporation is composed of two school buildings, Cowan Elementary (K-6) and Cowan Jr./Sr. High School (7-12).

Cowan is a member of the Muncie Area Career Center and the Delaware-Blackford Special Education Cooperative.

What's Happening

2024-2025 School Information

All returning Cowan families will need to complete registration documents online through PowerSchool.  Registration will be open July 23rd. Families new to Cowan should call the school building office (289-7129 - Elementary, 289-7128 - Jr./Sr. High School) to obtain online credentials.

Free/Reduced Lunch Applications for 24-25 school year are now available here. Families are strongly encouraged to apply if you believe you might be eligible.

New transfer applications for students living out of the district should be completed on the transfer student page.  Applications for the 2024-25 school year will continue to be accepted until January 31, 2025.
