Latchkey

The Latchkey program at Cowan Elementary offers an affordable child care option both before and after school. The program opens each school day at 6:45 a.m. and concludes at 5:45 p.m. The Latchkey program will be closed when school is not in session due to inclement weather conditions. In case of an early dismissal due to weather, steps will be followed as outlined in the Latchkey handbook.

The cost to enroll in Latchkey is $25.00 per family (anyone living in the same household a majority of the week during the school year). This fee must be paid before a student can stay for Latchkey. The hourly rate is $3.00 per student. Parents can sign up for Latchkey at registration or any other point during the school year. Latchkey payments made online through My School Bucks will incur a 4.95% processing fee from the vendor. Payments may also be made via check or cash without an additional fee.
