Cowan Blackhawk families,

Happy December! This school year is flying by! It's getting cold and we've had a couple of days where it snowed (just not enough to stay on the ground). Please remind your student/s to wear a coat to school each day. On 'warmer' days, we will try to get them outside for recess.

This month the character trait we are focusing on is GENTLENESS. We will be working on being gentle in our words and actions.

During this busy holiday season, please remember to be patient with others, show kindness, and slow down a little so you can enjoy everything that is going on.

Thank you,

Lendon D. Schwartz

Cowan Elementary Principal

Secret Families: A huge thank you goes out to our students and families for the incredible generosity shown during our Secret Families of Delaware County fundraiser! The total amount of our donation was $5,016.71!!! This will certainly help provide blessings to many families this Christmas!!! The Delaware County elementary schools competed to see which school could raise the most money for this cause. Cowan won! As a result, Mr. Schwartz and Mrs. Sevier will be wearing roller skates and tutus all day on Friday, December 8!!!

Toys for Tots: We are taking donations for Toys for Tots!  Please send in new or gently used unwrapped children’s toys by Thursday, December 14. Donation boxes will be located in the elementary. Thank you for helping with this important community service.

December’s Big Idea giveaway will be December 21 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Please park by and enter door #7. All families with a child in Cowan Schools are welcome.
