This email is going out to all parents of current students in grades 4 through 11.  It is intended for all parents of students who are interested or may be interested in playing sports during the 2026-2027 school year.  It is our goal for ALL Cowan students interested to get their athletic physical completed during this FREE event on April 1st.

IU Health will be at Cowan Jr/Sr High School again this year to give FREE athletic physicals for all Cowan students that will be in grades 5-12 in the 2026-2027 school year.  The athletic physicals will be given on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 5:30pm-7:30pm in the Cowan Jr/Sr High School main gym.  Please enter at entrance #2.  Parents are welcome to come with their students.  If a parent does not attend with the student, the IHSAA Pre-Evaluation Form must be completely filled out and signed by the parent before the athletic physical can be administered by the doctors.

The IHSAA Pre-Evaluation Form (Athletic Physical) will be attached to this email.  Hard copies of the athletic physical will be available in the main offices of both the Jr/Sr high school and the elementary as of Monday, March 9, 2026.  Hard copies will also be available the night of the FREE athletic physicals at entrance #2 as you enter.  These athletic physicals will be good through Saturday, June 12, 2027.  The current athletic physicals expire Saturday, June 13, 2026.

On the night of the FREE physicals, the completed and signed athletic physical will stay at Cowan.  They will be processed and recorded into FinalForms.  They will be given back to those parents/guardians who would like the original athletic physical.  The original physicals will be kept at the Jr/Sr High School main office unless requested.  To request the original, please call the main office at 765-289-7128 on Friday, April 3rd or later, or email Stacy Barton at sbarton@cowan.k12.in.us with the subject line "2026-27 Athletic Physical".  In your message, please just let us know that you would like the original back.  We are glad to make those available for you after we record them into FinalForms.
