A message from the Principal:
Please allow me to tell you about Cowan Jr. / Sr. High School. We are located about six miles from downtown Muncie, in southern Delaware County. Although we are a small suburban school we have enjoyed considerable academic and athletic success. Our current enrollment is approximately 385 students in grades 7 through 12. We are proud of our commitment to academic success.
We strive to offer worthwhile and varied curriculum opportunities for our students. We currently have Advanced Placement (AP) classes and Dual Credit classes that offer our students an opportunity to earn college credit prior to them enrolling in a post secondary institution. A well-rounded education, provided in a caring and concerned atmosphere is the cornerstone of our school. At Cowan, we really do care about each other. Our faculty, staff and parents are committed to proving the best possible educational and social experiences for our students.
Our band and choir programs are highly respected and have been very successful over the past few years. The numbers in both groups are rising quickly. Our Key Club, Student Council and National Honor Society are very active and involved in several community service projects every year.
We also offer a wide variety of education-based athletic opportunities for our students. In recent history we have had our softball, baseball and volleyball teams at the state finals. Our volleyball team won the 2012 and 2019 Class A State Championships.
